• How to measure for curtains

To accurately measure for your curtains, we advise you install your track or pole first if possible and take all your measurements in centimetres.

We recommend that you install your track or pole approximately 15cm above your window frame and have it extend 20-25cm either size of the window frame.  However, if you haven’t yet installed your track or pole, please add the above dimensions to your measurements.

If your window is in a recess, simply use the width and height within the recess for your measurements.
Please keep in mind that window sills, recesses and floors can be uneven, we suggest measuring the length at two or three points and using the shortest as your measurement.

    Pencil Pleat Curtains:

    Step 1 – Width
Track: Measure from one end of the track to the other in its entirety.
Pole: Measure from one end of the pole to the other, within the finials.

    Step 2 – Drop
Track or Pole: First decide if you would like your track or pole to be visible.  For the track or pole to be visible, please measure from the bottom of the track or curtain ring on your pole to where you would like the curtains to finish (often at the window sill or floor) and if you prefer this to be hidden, please measure from the top of your track or pole.

    Eyelet Curtains:

    Step 1 – Width
Pole: Measure from one end of the pole to the other, within the finials.

    Step 2 – Drop
Pole: Measure from the top of your pole to where you would like your curtains for finish, adding 5cm to this measurement to allow for the upstand.

    Wave Curtains:

    Step 1 – Width
Track: Measure from one end of the track to the other in its entirety.
Pole: Measure from one end of the pole to the other, within the finials.  Please note the for wave curtains, a specialised pole is required, we recommend the Metropole.

    Step 2 – Drop
Track or Pole: Measure from the bottom of the track or pole to your chosen curtain length, often to the window sill or floor.

    Additional Curtain Styles:

For our decorative header styles, Double Pleat, Triple Pleat and Cartridge Pleat, exact measurements are required as these curtain styles are finished and delivered to the exact width of your track or pole.

    Step 1 – Width
Track: Measure from one end of the track to the other in its entirety.
Pole: Measure from one end of the pole to the other, within the finials.

    Step 2 – Drop
Track or Pole: Measure from the top of the track to your chosen curtain length, often to the window sill or floor, if you would like to hide the track or pole.  For the track or pole to be visible, please measure from the bottom of the track or curtain ring on your pole.
